Welcome to this Biotechnology Newsletter by me, Sanjay Srivatsan. For background, I’m a scientist in training — a 7th year MD/PhD student — at the University of Washington. My graduate work is focused on primarily on developing single cell sequencing technologies under the direction of Cole Trapnell and Jay Shendure.
Recently, I’ve started to marvel at how quantitative and high-throughput biology have started to change the way we think about the world. More specifically, it’s becoming easier to imagine biological solutions to problems that are not inherently biological. I hope you’ll join me on this journey as I summarize new technologies and results in this rapidly evolving space.
